May 28th – 29th, 2016 ~ (Full Album Here) This is Memorial Day weekend and it just so happens to coincide with the (second?) annual Walker Stalker Con. Anything to do with the Undead, Zombies, etc… you would find it here.
We had the weekend pass and spent one day checking out the convention and shopping while the second day was spent meeting celebrities mainly for Mattie and (some) for Tonia’s fan-fest. Instead of going the route of The Walking Dead, Mattie and Tonia have been binge-watching Z-Nation.
Most of the main characters were here for the meet and greet and they were absolutely awesome people. They actually took the time (granted not all day) to meet you, shake your hand and have a short conversation with you. You would then be offered from a selection of photos, one that would be personalized and autographed for you. That would then be followed by a selfie with them. In my case, I brought my camera and that was allowed too. So you can imagine.. I fired away on the shutter button 🙂
The best surprise of all was for Mattie when he met Anastasia Baranova, who plays the character “Addy”. She spent a good 90 seconds talking with Mattie and Tonia (watch the video) and then grabbed them both for a group photo. When done, she went to give Mattie a hug and I quickly snapped a few shots. When she realized what I was doing, she posed once again (with a hug) with mattie and he was so happy. He actually told us later in the evening that he was never going to wash that shirt 🙂
So a big thank you! to Anastasia, Russell Hodgkinson (a.k.a “Doc), Nat Zang (a.k.a. “10-K”) and Keith Allan (a.k.a. “Murphy) for makiing this day such a great one for my family!
