As this day of thanks-giving dwindles to a close with Christmas music playing in the background, and me sipping on some wine, I can’t help but wonder what I should be thankful for and this is what I have come up with…
I am thankful that my Dad and sister reached out to me this past year, especially since we had not spoken in over 10 years. I am glad that my sister reached out to me for help, and was glad to be of some help to her.
I may complain about it from time to time, but I am glad that my daughter and grandson has come home. She has had a rough life and as my wife puts it, without bad luck, Vanna wouldn’t have any luck at all – so being home, I hope she feels safe and to some extent, know that mom and dad loves her very much and want her here. As for dear Mattie, he’s got all the Wi-Fi, Playstation, xBox and toys to keep him busy and know that everyone under this roof is crazy about this boy.
What I am most grateful for this year is for my wife. There has been some rough times recently that she had to go through because of a simple choice of wanting to live a productive life with the loves of her life; her children, grandchildren and family. The choice was a brave one, and not one without complications. It has been a tough few months but I think, I hope, it is finally getting better.
She is a strong woman and I know I could not have gone through what she did. I am thankful that she is here with us… with me. I’m thankful that she puts up with my annoying ways, and I am thankful that she still chooses, at the end of the day, to still love me.

Aw, very sweet Nik… You have an amazing wife!! Happy things are going good for you all. 🙂
Thanks Tammy, it is slowly getting there 🙂
